At the time, Im writing this, Slumdog Millionaire is just one or two awards away from winning the most coveted award in the movie-making industry: The Best Picture Oscar. I really like this film and I personally think it deserves all the awards in the run-up to the Oscar. Never mind that it received criticsm from it's native country where it was filmed, this is one film that we all should go and see for all the good aspects it depicts.
Messages like rag to riches, nothing is impossible, the triumph of the underdog (no pun intended) is nothing new but what sets this film from previous winner is that it makes us feel good by showing us the worst in life. Kind of cryptic....huh. How about the saying; One complain one has no shoes until one sees someone with no legs. You see, sometimes, we fret and whine for the smallest of things like being stuck in the traffic or not getting enough pay or the neighbour having a better car, etc. we got 'lost in our own world' that we forget somewhere, someone out there is walking hundreds of miles to get their daily drinking water for the family, children working as hard labourer for pittance and is the only one still alive (though barely) after all his neighbours are killed during the civil war...... (you get the drift)
In short, Slumdog Millionaire is my reality check. I think it's a good thing too that the Academy is recognising this low-budget 'rough diamond' over all others.....it's time they wake up and know that a good film need not to have over-rated stars or inflated budget and the best 'special effects' are real life itself...... we just need to open our eyes and see.
For that, I'm gonna give way when others cut into my queue. Be thankful for all the food that is present on the table everyday. Relish the sight of me waking up to the morning sun, shining on my white butt when I wake up late. Appreciate all the people you treasure around you. I'm not going to complain (like prviously) that I couldn't own an original Chanel purse or Prada shoes. For that, though I do not cordone replica handbags, I'm thankful that I can still be able to have my piece of luxury despite in these not so good times, thanks to them. Thinking about it, www.replicasi.com is like my Slumdog Millionaire.
By the way, I just got news. Slumdog Millionaire just won Best Motion Picture of the Year Oscar.......
